ABOUT OUR SPEAKER
Jake Newton, CPPS President and CEO believes individuals should have the ownership and ability to effect their own safety. CPPS delivers violence prevention and travel risk management solutions for about half of the Fortune 100, major healthcare systems, and other complex organizations.
He is a nationally recognized human‑security leader with seventeen years of operational experience in government, nonprofit and private sectors, and the U.S. Military. A former Air Force SERE Specialist, he built his career in combat and crisis survival, and travel risk management.
Jake has trained thousands of high‑risk U.S. Government personnel for some of the world’s most austere operating environments and led the first major rewrite of the Air Force’s Combat Survival training curriculum in two decades, shaping readiness for more than 20,000 personnel annually.
His early work supporting New York State Park Rangers and his over eight years directing ministry security operations—including serving as Head of Security for a 1,200‑member congregation—grounded his approach in practical, community‑level security and threat mitigation.
In the private sector, Jake has become a trusted advisor to Fortune 1000 organizations, helping them build standards‑based violence prevention programs, strengthen personnel security capabilities, and mature enterprise travel risk management. He has trained thousands across major U.S. companies in active assailant survival, de‑escalation, captivity survival, and personal protection; and authored a Workplace Violence Instructor Certification program adopted by the Department of Homeland Security as professional education. His expertise has been featured in national media, including The Wall Street Journal.
Jake holds a Master of Arts in Global Security from Arizona State University and is a member of the FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association.
